To Support the Mission in Iraq

I received my Memorial Bracelet today and I think it's great. It reminds me of the POW bracelets from the Vietnam war. I work second shift and my shift decided to send a package to some of the soldiers who are not getting any mail, etc. I was looking for information on the internet about where to send packages for soldiers in Iraq when I ran across the Memorial Bracelets website and I knew that I had to have one. I do support all of our troops and their mission in Iraq. I can show that support by wearing this bracelet.

I showed my son the web sight and told him that people had them during the Vietnam War and that they were nice then. He asked if we could order some because he has several friends in Iraq and one Korea right now. We chose the ones we did because they are a constant reminder that all our troops need prayer. To Show Support and Love for Our Troops

I received my bracelet and just love it.  Just one more way to show how I feel.   Years ago during the Viet Nam war my brother bought a bracelet, silver, like mine that had the name and rank of a POW.  You were to wear it until your person came home.  Well he was never able to find out if this soldier came home or now.  He still wears this bracelet to this day.  I wish I could find out for him.  

You see our dad was Marine during World War II.  Once a Marine-Always a Marine !  We have always been a very patriotic family.  Always flew a flag !  Since the events of September 11th,  My front porch has had a flag up and has been decorated in Red/White & Blue, year round since that horrific day.  I wanted to show my support for our country and  for President Bush.  I have always worn some type of flag pin (homemade or bought) every single day and yes my little old car even sports a USA car flag.

I ordered the bracelet, as anything I can do as a civilian to show my support and love for our troops, and our Free country, well makes me feel good.  I wish I knew someone that was over there now so I could write to them to give them my support, but I don't.  So I found the Operation Dear Abby site and have been sending e-mails this way to the Marines.  Alot of other people also send e-mails this way. So if you don't have anyone personally you can write to, this at least helps you to feel you do. 

I think your bracelet is a great idea. The engraving is very pretty and the flag is a nice touch.  It's wonderful that the profits are going to this Terrorism Preparedness Fund.  I certainly hope you sell alot of these bracelets. I sometimes feel we have a divided country because of the war and I have heard alot of the soldiers aren't feeling the support of the people.  So sad.  But no one really wants to go to war. No one wants our troops to get wounded or killed and we certainly don't like civilians to get killed.  But in war these things do happen.  Some of our troops have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, her people, and our freedom.  We are a very strong and powerful nation. I thank God we didn't still have the former President at the time. I believe President Bush is a great president and has done what certainly was needed to be done.  I definitely feel we could never have backed down from the events of September 11th.  Our Nation has to stay strong.  I am a proud person and thank you for giving me one more way to show it.  God Bless Our Troops!  and God Bless The USA! - Karon  >^..^<

To Contribute to the Support of Our Troops

 I received my "Support Our Troops" bracelets yesterday.  I ordered 2 .... one for myself and one for my 12 year old son, Dylan - who is a pure patriot thru and thru !  In our home, cartoons and movies have been replaced with news broadcasts of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  We recognize our troops as the genuine heros and superstars.  Some say it is not healthy for Dylan to be exposed to so much of the war.  I disagree.  It is teaching him the true meaning and cost of freedom.  Since he was 8 year old, Dylan has expressed a genuine desire to become a Marine (following in my father's footsteps) .... and I have no doubt that he will see his dream come true.  Nothing would make me more proud.

We have felt so helpless in the last few weeks, and wanted to do something to feel like we were contributing and supporting our troops.  I accidentally came across your web-site and was so excited to find it.  It brought back memories of my 6th grade year, when our teacher purchased bracelets for each of us that contained the name of either a POW or an MIA during the Vietnam War.  I remember how "important" I felt at 12 years old .... I remember making a commitment to pray daily for the soldier whose name was engraved on my bracelet.  I wish I knew what ever happened to my bracelet and my soldier.  That image is still very vivid in my mind some 30 years later.  And THAT is what I wanted to give to my son .... A sense of pride, importance, commitment, respect and responsibility to our troops, our president and our country.  

We put on our bracelets last night and made a commitment not to remove them until this war is over and our troops are home.  The bracelets will serve as a constant reminder to pray for and support our troops.  It is also our hope that others will notice and inquire about them so that we can share our patriotism.  I suppose it is a small gesture, but it carries with it great meaning.  We are both extremely proud to wear our bracelets as a symbolic expression of our love for our country.  GOD BLESS AMERICA.

To Teach My Daughter to Care For Others

I purchased it for my daughter and she is proud to wear it. (she is 14 year old middle school student)   It is  very nice.  I was looking for a bracelet like what were worn during the Vietnam War time for POWs.  I was trying to show her and explain about them when she said she wanted one.  She wore it to school today and everyone wanted to know where she got it and told her how much they like it.  It is so hard for children to understand war, it is a very scary time for them, and maybe to understand even a part of caring for others who are helping us to be a safe and free nation is something. - Carol L.

One Way of Showing My Support

To Support Our Country

I chose to order the bracelet to show my support for our country and those fighting for our freedom as well as the freedom for those people who need our help.  I work more than full-time and don't have the luxury of standing on a street corner with a sign to show support for our President and country, and disdain for those who stand out there to  protest against our country, troops and freedom and say it's about oil.  It is their right to use their freedom of speech for such things, as is mine when someone asks why it is I wear my bracelet.  The bracelet may be a small part, but I will wear it everyday until all of troops come home.  God Bless our country. - Tanesa

To have a physical reminder of my son in Iraq

I received my first of 2 bracelets ordered & I am overwhelmed. My son, Sgt. Robert Hall is in the 3rd Infantry in Iraq. I am having a very difficult time & am doing all I can to have a physical reminder of him with me every minute of every day. I absolutely love my bracelet & will wear & show it proudly until his safe return home.

The 2nd one is for his new wife he married just 5 weeks before being deployed. He was stationed overseas & married in the Philippines so we are going through the INS process to get her here. She of course misses him terribly. To Remember the 9/11 Victims and their Families

My reason for purchasing my Sept. 11, 2001 bracelet is because I was directly involved with the incident. I'm an Emergency Medical Technician in NJ and spent quite a few tiring days in New York City as well as in Jersey City along the shore line helping those that were in the city be transported to NJ by boat. This is my way of remembering the victims and their families who are still trying to cope with the awful tragedy of that day.

To Show Tribute to the Victims of 9/11/01

I wanted something to commemorate those that lost their lives on 9/11/01.  But I did not want to just commemorate just one of the many horrible things that happened that day.  I was especially affected because I too was on a plane traveling back to Dallas when the first plane struck the WTC.  It could have easily been the plane that I was on that was hijacked.  My heart goes out to everyone that lost their lives that day and their families. Seeing Ground Zero Will Stay With Me for the Rest of My Life

I saw the ground zero site from the family viewing platform and it was the most profound thing i have ever saw it will stay with me for the rest of my life. Im 15 my dad was on a peer support thing for the NYPD we live in Washington state he made the trip and talked to some of the FDNY and NYPD guys  sum of the stories i heard were terrifying i couldn't even comprehend the things these men saw and experienced i was in the big relief tent i saw ground zero and more memories than i could count i know plan to be a firefighter in New York and i hope i can serve with any of the men from sept. 11th.

For a Widowed Newlywed

I found your site while surfing the net looking for more information on 9/11. The person whose name is on my bracelet was the husband of a lady who I am currently making a memory quilt for, as her husband was on the 101st floor in the WTC and he worked for Cantor Fitzgerald. 

The saddest part of the whole thing was that they had just been married on 12/9/2000, and they would not have the opportunity to celebrate their 1st anniversary or even have the chance to start their family. I found the name of a site that started making memory quilts for people about 2 weeks after the disaster and was given her name.

To Remember a Maine Firefighter

I ordered my bracelet to remember a friend and fellow firefighter from my company who was killed in the line of duty on Oct. 31, 2002.  He died when a structure in which he was fighting a fire in collapsed.  He was a fellow volunteer firefighter from the Maine Fire Co. in Coal Township, PA and also a Pennsylvania State Police Trooper.

To Display a Tribute to Those Lost on 9/11

Thank you for giving me a way of displaying a tribute to the memories of those lost at the hands of terrorism.  My bracelet has already become a permanent fixture on my wrist. Having worn a Vietnam MIA/POW bracelet until I discovered the unfortunate ending to my soldier's story, I understand how that piece of jewelry becomes a part of you, almost a link to the person who's name it bears.  The heroes and heroines of these events are a part of us all. The only difference is that we know the fates of those on our bracelets already.
