For David and Orville Cooley

As editor of the Cooley Family Association newsletter, I was researching Cdr David L Cooley and Lt Orville D Cooley when I discovered memorialbracelets.com.
David's F111A went down near Quang Bien in Laos, but no wreckage was ever found. Orville's C1A crashed into the Gulf of Tonkin after takeoff from the USS Kitty Hawk.

My Brother William Reedy Jr. was aboard the plane with Orville on Jan. 18th 1968 when it went down and died that day too. My sympathy goes to the family even after 43 years. They are never forgotten. Now with the help of JPAC we finally be able to bring them home.
God Bless

I still have a copper bracelet dated 4-22-68 with his name CDR David Cooley. I didn't realize so many years have passed. Thank you for your service CDR.

I served with Lt Dale Cooley in the Navy at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, and the USS Kitty Hawk. He and I worked and flew together. We also got together for family events. Dale was a Great Father, Good Husband and Fine Friend. I hope his wife, Betsy, and his boys have done well in the forty-years since Dale's death. Dale was mourned and missed by his many shipmates.

I, too, have a POW/MIA silver bracelet with gratitude to Commander David L Cooley, dated 4-22-68

I wore it with strong pride and commitment in the early 70's when I was only 10 years of age. I continue to wear it in honor of such sacrifice.

Thank you and God Bless

I have a bracelet also of CDR David L. Cooley. I just checked in to see if he was ever found. I will continue to pray for his family. I often hoped he would be found and reunited with his family. I am so sorry for your loss. God Bless you all with peace and love. Robiin Brown, Tennessee.
