For FDNY Firefighter Paul Tegtmeier

On September 11, 2001, we lived in a northern suburb of NYC. We were directly affected by the attacks on the Trade Center, as one of the FDNY firefighters (Paul Tegtmeier) who died went to our church, and he was a wonderful man. Needless to say, we lived the tragedy being so close for a long time, and not just because of knowing Paul. People remember very differently in New York. 

We just moved our family to Pittsburgh late this summer. When the 2nd anniversary rolled around, we realized that people here remember very differently than those who were so close. We wanted to carry a tangible reminder for us of Paul, and to also remind those removed from the tragedy how it affected those in New York. We will never forget.
